Throughout my life, it’s always been pretty hard for me to make and keep lasting friendships. People are quick to bail when things get real, and being a victim of multiple mental illnesses, I’m not the easiest person to maintain a relationship with. I try my best to be a good friend and have done so many things for others that I know they’d never do for me, but it has very rarely been enough to keep anybody around. Over the years I’ve had friends come and go, often leaving me behind in favor of someone cooler or richer… or more emotionally stable. I’ve got just one thing to say to these “friends”: Thank you.
